As college football season quickly approaches, so too does another incarnation of EA SPORTS College Football ratings. EA Sports has officially revealed the best players and teams for the 2026-27 college football season, giving fans their first glimpse of the 2026-27 gridiron.

While there’s plenty of time for these ratings to change post-release, the latest incarnation of EA SPORTS College Football & its ratings are sure to cause plenty of arguments in the coming months.

EA SPORTS College Football 27 Drops Highest-Rated Players & Teams

EA SPORTS College Football 27 is slated for release on July 9 (July 2 for EA Sports MVP+ members), and in preparation for its debut, the game’s social media team has started to reveal the rankings for this year’s highest-rated teams and players.

On the team side of things, EA Sports has revealed the full team ratings for every squad in EA SPORTS College Football 27. Oregon — which was eliminated by Indiana in the semi-finals of last year’s College Football Playoff — is the highest-rated team at launch, sporting a 91 Overall to start the year. Ohio State and the reigning national champion, Indiana, come in a close second at 90 Overall, followed by Notre Dame and Texas at 89 Overall to round out the top 5.

When it comes to player ratings, one player stands head and shoulders above his competition: Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who is the latest addition to EA Sports College Football’s 99 Club. The unanimous All-American is the game’s first-ever 99 Overall-rated player at launch, with the next highest-rated players —Indiana Hoosier left tackle Carter Smith & Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore — both clocking in at a 97 overall.

Full player ratings will be available when EA SPORTS College Football 27 releases next month, but for the time being, fans can check out the highest-rated players at each position on the game’s official website.

Additionally, EA Sports has also revealed the 25 Toughest Places to Play for 2027, featuring none other than LSU’s Death Valley at the No. 1 spot. Ohio Stadium, Beaver Stadium, Sanford Stadium, and Bryant-Denny Stadium round out the top five, giving the SEC and Big Ten a predictable vice grip on the game’s most intimidating environments.
