Just over a month after the conclusion of The Boys, lead actor Jack Quaid has landed another role in one of Prime Video’s flagship series. However, this time around, the talented performer won’t be stepping in front of the camera; Jack Quaid will be lending his voice acting talents to Invincible Season 5.

Since its debut in 2021, Invincible‘s cast has grown to include a bevy of high-profile actors, with Quaid only being the most recent addition to this series. While it remains to be seen how big a role he plays in the animated series’ upcoming season, Jack Quaid’s involvement is a fun point of connection for Prime Video’s other high-profile superhero series,

News of Jack Quaid’s addition to the Invincible cast comes from none other than the series’ author, Robert Kirkman, who recently announced Quaid’s casting as Gravitator as part of Prime Video’s Annecy Studio Focus presentation on June 24.

Although Gravitator has yet to appear in the Invincible TV show, the character is familiar to fans of the original comics, where he makes several appearances during his time in the series. Gravitator (real name: Chris) might not be as powerful as Grand Regent Thragg or the other Viltrumites, but his scientific knowledge is sure to play an important role in the events of Season 5 as characters like Dinosaurus factor back into the story.

That said, considering Prime Video, Robert Kirkman and the Invincible team have shown a willingness to change elements of Invincible’s story during the adaptation process, there’s also a chance that their plans for Gravitator and Quaid are different this time around.

In addition to Jack Quaid’s casting, Robert Kirkman also confirmed that Prime Video has greenlit Invincible Season 6, giving fans of Mark Grayson and his companions plenty to look forward to over the next few years. Although some fans have criticized the series for the disparity between its high-profile cast and its sometimes underwhelming animation, Jack Quaid’s involvement bodes well for the time being.

After years of playing Hughie Campbell on The Boys, Quaid is no doubt looking ahead to the future, and if his impersonation of Billy Butcher in the show’s final season was any indication, then the talented actor has plenty to offer the voice-acting world — even if his role in the violent world of Invincible doesn’t extend beyond the series’ fifth season.
